About Age Concern Bedfordshire

Age Concern Bedfordshire (ACB) is a local charity based in Bedford and operating throughout the whole of Bedfordshire for the benefit of all older people in the County. We are a member of the Age Concern Federation. Because of this we are able to effectively bring the views and opinions of the older people of Bedfordshire to the attention of local and national government.  

AC Beds does far more than talk. We do the doing too!  

We helped older people in Bedfordshire obtain benefit entitlements of over £700,000 last year.

  • We provided over 36,000 hours of home help throughout the county.  
  • Our gardeners worked for nearly 10,000 hours throughout the year keeping our customers' gardens neat and tidy.
  • Hundreds of Grab and Stair Rails are fitted to help prevent falls, key safes were supplied and installed to assist with security and access.
  • Our Information, Advice and Support Service help over 12,000 people each year giving advice and support on a whole range of issues, such as Benefit Entitlements, Housing Issues, free Legal Advice, Home Visits and so much more.

    Handyperson Service
